Oversized Truck Loads Passing Through Norway

Oversize Load Movement Scheduled for Turner and Oxford Areas Tonight
An oversize load convoy associated with the Barnhart Crane & Rigging transport project will continue its move through portions of Turner and Oxford, Maine, on Wednesday evening, September 30, 2026. The convoy is scheduled to begin moving at approximately 7:00 PM and is expected to conclude operations by approximately 6:00 AM Thursday morning.
Motorists can expect intermittent traffic delays along the route as the convoy travels from its holdover location in Turner to Oxford utilizing Route 117 (Buckfield Road) and Route 26.
A temporary road closure and signed detour will be implemented on Buckfield Road in Turner beginning at approximately 6:30 PM to allow crews to install and utilize Jumper Bridge #2152. Traffic control personnel, law enforcement officers, and flaggers will be present to direct motorists safely through the area.
The transported load measures approximately:
- 20 feet wide
- 19 feet 5 inches high
- 219 feet 4 inches long
- 683,530 pounds gross vehicle weight
Motorists are encouraged to:
- Allow additional travel time.
- Use caution when traveling near the convoy route.
- Obey all traffic control devices, detours, and law enforcement directions.
- Avoid following the convoy closely or attempting to pass escort vehicles.
The project is being coordinated by Barnhart Crane & Rigging, MaineDOT, Maine State Police, utility providers, and local municipalities to ensure the move is conducted safely and efficiently.
