Proposals Sought for Maintenance of the Norway Gardens: The proposal will cover the care and maintenance the flower gardens and garden areas along Main Street, starting from the median garden at the head of Main Street near Aubuchon, The area across from the Legion Hall at the Guy E Rowe School, the garden by Norway Brewing Company, the flowers around the fountain at the fire station, the garden surrounding the municipal parking area on the corner of Cottage Street, the kiosk area and surrounding gardens, and ending at the west side of Butters Park, 7 areas in all, as well as the gardens of Water Street parking area and on both sides of the foot bridge for the spring, summer and fall seasons of 2017. Payments will be made for the work over a twelve month period starting and ending in May.

Care and maintenance includes annual mulching, routine weeding, trimming, pruning, and cleanup. Application of fresh dark mulch in the spring; edge annually; tend, weed and deadhead 2x per month; and trim all shrubs & fruit trees annually; as well as conduct garden winterization and fall/spring garden cleanups.

The proposal shall include mulch, fertilizer (if allowed), tax, delivery & labor of up to 24 yards total.

The spring cleanup will include the removal and disposal of winter sand; fall cleanup will include winterizing gardens and disposing of all organic material.

All proposals must include the cost of insurance and proof of worker’s comp coverage.  Please submit to David Holt, Town Manager, 19 Danforth St., Norway, Maine  04268, along with references, before  5:00 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
