The Town of Norway is seeking a full-time position as an office clerk for the Town and a billing clerk for the wastewater department. This office clerk position includes:
- Processing weekly payroll, processing payroll changes, working with Maine State retirement on monthly reports.
- Working with the payroll vendor software systems to add or edit employee information to ensure accurate and timely payroll information including any and all payroll deductions.
- Processing all new employees for payroll and Town Benefits to include Health Insurance, Maine State Retirement, Dental, Union fees and other municipal benefits offered by the Town and submitted reports as needed to vendors and to the Town’s Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer.
- Tracking and processing payments for the wastewater department to include following the lien process for properties for non-payments.
Back up counter clerk for vehicle registrations, tax payments, boat registrations, and any other excise tax, registration and or taxes that are collected by the Town.
Preference will be given to those who have experience in finance, customer service, and current or previous municipal work a plus. The person must have the ability to multi-task, work in a fast pace environment, demonstrate a positive attitude and values honesty and integrity.
